I am sitting in a cabin in Wawona (outside Yosemite), having coffee as the family sleeps. It is 29 degrees outside.

Toby has been out for a morning walk and is keeping me company. Today we have a lazy day planned. We will let the kids sleep in this morning, and I have to figure out a hike for later on in the day.

So help me kill some time, Oppo. Any good Internet rabbit holes to suggest? Any interesting New Year plans? Let's waste some time. I hope all of you are safe if there is extreme weather near you.

Sounds nice. I’ve got a lazy day of my own planned.

This is going to be set up today.

And I’ve got my Dad’s car down South with me for a week or two. Sometime next week I’ll do a timing belt, tune up and S vending on it. I should probably get it off the trailer and everything put away later today.

I’m selling shaved ice at a middle school wrestling tournament, just passing time as well. So my question is this, “which has a bigger glove box, the Sunchaser or the Golf?”. Also is a glove box something you actually use or care about? Do you see a future devoid of glove boxes where t hat space is replaced with an in car refrigerator, or a phone charging dock and infotainment center. Or a fold out eating tray and electric stove top? I might be bored.

its extremely grey and miserable here...stupid rain...we hates it

also im slow cooking a big ole slab of beef and my whole house smells like beef i cant eat for at least 2 more hours...its torture

áside from that im sposed to go off and buy some fireworks with the missus sooo obviously shes fucked off somewhere

and im strangely obsessed by bre payton dying off swine flu...today is a wierd day

but yeah.. rabbit holes... dont really have any did stumble across this somehow.... kept me amused for a little bit

Depending on weather, the Four Mile Trail is awesome, but very tough (not treacherous, just hard) . And it ends at Glacier Point which I think is closed.  Bridaveil Falls is basically paved and always pays off. Just watch out for ice on the rocky trails.

You can’t go wrong just wandering around the Valley, though (or driving). I don’t think I could get my family hiking in freezing temps. Have a blast!

I would solicit your opinion: I read some commentary yesterday or the day before about President Trump and legal challenges. The writer supposed that Mueller has the goods on Trump for having violated campaign finance law. The writer supposes that Trump may well run out the clock on that, the statute of limitations being five years on such an offense. Sitting POTUS cannot be indicted, et cetera. What are your thoughts on that?

Along with this, I would say that I have come to recognize liberal spin in the media, though I would hardly call what they report “fake.” I realize that for all of Trump’s comportment issues, in many respects, he’s about as transparent as anyone who’s probably ever held the office. Yet, I have a sense of an administration who is becoming more adroit at representing the child king. In the end, though, will things be much different than they would have been with some other strong Republican and everything taking place inside the standard Black Box of politics?

All three of my daughters are in the house this weekend, which happens but rarely these days. Give Toby a rub for me, just under his ears.

Where are you hiking? If I recall the Mariposa grove is not to far from Wawona. If there is snow you can also try to break a leg at badger pass ski area.
